About

From musical lineage to cinematic voice.

Born in Bhadravati, Karnataka, and raised in a family of musicians, Ajaneesh Loknath’s relationship with music began long before cinema. With training in both Carnatic and Hindustani classical traditions, his foundation was shaped by discipline, listening, and a deep sense of musical inheritance.

His journey into film music was shaped through practice before recognition. Beginning as a session musician and keyboard player in Bengaluru, he moved through jingles, television composition, and independent work before breaking through with Shishira in 2009. Since then, his filmography has expanded across multiple South Indian industries, carrying a voice that remains rooted yet adaptable.

After his breakthrough as an independent composer, Ajaneesh Loknath’s work steadily expanded across Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema, earning recognition not only for songs and scores, but for the distinct emotional and dramatic language he brought to film music. Over time, that growth translated into a wider body of work, award-winning recognition, and a place among the defining contemporary voices in South Indian cinema.
